Dr. Martin Wiemann completed his medical studies in Münster and Vienna including several months abroad in New York, Bolzano, Cape Town and Johannesburg. His basic surgical training in Erlangen, Berlin and Hamburg was followed by orthopaedic residency training in the sports clinic Hellersen, the Northwest German Rheumatism Centre in Sendenhorst and the Klinikum Osnabrück. During this time he already focused on hand and foot surgery techniques.
Since 2009 Dr. med. Wiemann then focused exclusively on hand and foot surgery in the renowned clinic in Bad Neustadt. In 2010 he worked for a year as a Fellow under Dr. med. Mark Ross at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. Due to his long-standing specialisation, he is proficient in a broad spectrum of foot and hand surgery operations.

Surgical:
- Hallux valgus of all degrees of severity (malposition of the big toe) including corrections after previous operations (recurrences)
- Hallux varus
- Deformities of the little toes (including hammer, claw toes, cutter bales)
- Nerve tumours, Morton’s neuroma

- Injuries, malpositions and arthroses of the midfoot
- Sports injuries (including ligament injuries, chronic instability with repeated kinking, fractures)
- Stage-appropriate treatment of cartilage damage (microfracturing, matrix-assisted cartilage reconstruction)
- Deformities and osteoarthritis of the upper and lower ankle with axis corrections and fusions all the way to prosthetics of the upper ankle
- Complex foot malpositions (kinking foot, hollow foot, sickle foot) with correction osteotomies, tendon transfers, fusion of the lower ankle, computer-aided correction with modern ring fixator (Taylor spatial frame)
- Arthroscopy of the upper ankle joint from the front, among other things, with free joint bodies, mucosal inflammations, bone attachments, arthrosis; with os trigonum and posterior entrapment syndrome also from heel-to-toe (posterior)
- Tendon surgery (tears of the peroneal tendons including reconstruction pinching ligaments, tibial posterior pathology, Achilles tendon tears and wear-related changes)
- Ablation of bony prominences on Achilles tendon base (upper heel spur, Haglund exostosis)
Conservative:
- Need-oriented introduction of inserts, orthosis and shoe support and physiotherapy
- Injections and infiltrations (including local anaesthetics, cortisone, hyaluronic acid)
- Botulinum toxin (Botox)
- ACP activated platelet plasma
