- Specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery
- Hand and foot surgery
The practice for hand, elbow and foot surgery has existed since the opening of ATOS Clinic in 1991. The focus is on the diagnosis, conservative and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and injury consequences involving the hand, elbow and foot.
The advising and education of the patient about their illness and the resulting different treatment options are very much in the foreground, since only a well-informed patient has the motivation required for achieving optimal results.
Surgical treatment is required in about one third of the patients visiting the consultation. The majority of interventions are performed on an outpatient basis, i.e. when the operated patients feel confident again, they can leave the practice. In certain cases, however, stationary accommodation can be made possible.
Complicated and complex procedures can be carried out through the use of state-of-the-art equipment and treatment methods. Minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as arthroscopic surgery on the wrist, endoscopic carpal tunnel cleavage, percutaneous screwing in scaphoid fractures, and the use of special implants can significantly reduce the rehabilitation time in many cases.
Joint-preserving intervention in the care of the very common malpositions of the forefoot is in the foreground. The latest findings for a gentle restoration of foot function are taken into account in order to enable the rapid mobilisation of the patient.
The conservative therapy measures and the targeted initiation and accompaniment of postoperative physiotherapy occupy a central position within the scope of the various treatment concepts in addition to the surgical treatment.
Continuing education and continuing training and lecturing activities of the physicians ensure that the high quality in diagnostics and therapy is preserved regarding diseases of the hands, elbows and feet.
